Reopening a Magical Island After Lockdown

October 1, 2020

October arrived, the month of reopening: many businesses were getting ready to open their doors again and welcome the public. Taboga was no exception — several hotels were already taking reservations, judging by the calls the author had been getting.

We waited eagerly to see what the new rules of the game would look like: how social distancing would work at the different venues, how beach umbrellas would be arranged, whether there’d be a cap on the number of people, how social gatherings would be handled, and how shops would sell once domestic tourists started moving again.

One thing was certain: that month would be a very interesting one, and everyone needed to keep taking care of themselves and follow whatever rules were set.

It was also a good moment to crack down on issues like litter — the start of a new chapter that, hopefully, would bring benefits and more awareness for everyone.

Best regards.
