Diving in Taboga: Bottles, Shipwrecks and Arrowheads

January 26, 2021

Taboga was once a stop for conquistadors and pirates, who found the island a good place to rest and resupply before setting off on their adventures. That history has made diving around the island interesting: searching the more remote spots, you can still find items like bottles, dishes, ship parts and arrowheads.

The bold divers who explore the waters around El Morro often come back with these unconventional treasures.

Right across from the church square, at the house where Rogelio Sinán was born, there’s a display of bottles recovered from diving around the island; you can stop by, grab a coffee, and take a look.
